EASTER CANTATA

Paul, our Music Director, says that we are going to perform a Music Cantata on Palm Sunday.  Paul is still looking for some good strong (or not so strong) voices.  Have you always wanted to sing in the Choir, but could not afford to spend the next 10 months doing so?  Well here is your chance:  Practice will begin on February 9th, at 7:15, and will last only until Palm Sunday. (This practice will only last for 5 weeks instead of 10 months).  We will see you on February 9th, at 7:15 p.m.

PRESBYTERIAN YOUTH GROUP

The youth group began the year with a pizza and veggie tales night on January 26th.  Youth from the Wednesday confirmation class attended.

YOUTH DINNER AND GAME NIGHT

There will be dinner and games for youth grades 7-12 on February 9th, from

7:30-9:00 p.m.  Anyone in that age group who would like to come is welcome, and your friends are also welcome.  Other youth activities that will be scheduled will begin showing up in the weekly activities section of the Sunday bulletin, so be on the lookout!

 SKI TRIP

The youth ski trip has been converted into an all-church ski trip on March 4th.  Prices and times are on the bulletin board next to the stairwell.  We need at least 20 people to make the trip a success, and the more the merrier!  Drivers are still needed for the trip as well.  Any parents who would like to help with upcoming youth activities, please contact Jessica Crane at the church or at 299-3355.

MISSION OPPORTUNITY

Would you like to help some one in an underdeveloped country, but you feel as if you have no way to do so?  Jean Pohl, a former member of Community Presbyterian Church, has a way for you to help.

Jean and her husband, Hans, make Handy Bags which hang on the back of wheelchairs.  These bags are given to the Wheels for the World, an outreach of JAF Ministries, founded by Joni Erickson Tabs, an internationally known disability advocate.  Joni herself is a quadriplegic.

The Pohl’s, who both get around in a motorized carts, have the materials to make the bags, which are then sent along with reconditioned wheelchairs to people in need of wheel chairs.  The bags make it possible for people to carry necessaries with them when they are in their wheelchairs.  The bags are easy to sew on a sewing machine, and all materials are furnished.

If you would like to help with the sewing for this project, you can sew either at Jeans home or at yours, please call Jean Pohl at 293-8032.  (Jean has three sewing machines set up at her house in Fargo.)

A shipment of wheelchairs will be going to Uganda in March and bags are needed for them.

For more information, call Delores Horn at 282-4501.

SKATING PARTY

All Church Skating Party will be held from 4-7 p.m., Saturday February 6th.  Come to Skateland and skate (or listen) to Christian music.  $7.50 for a family of four, each extra person would be $2.50.  Individual rate is $2.75 each.  Come and enjoy fellowship of friends.
