On
January 21st, the Building Committee and the architectural
consultants, David Shultz and Amanda Torgerson, presented the two Master Plan
Proposals which were under consideration at that time.
We enjoyed a lively meeting that was enhanced by broad and enthusiastic
comment and participation. The team
listened very carefully to what they heard and came away much encouraged by the
large turnout and energetic participation of the congregation.
During
its meeting the following Wednesday the team reviewed the options before them
and made two short term decisions related to the challenging costs associated
with achieving the first phase of the project under either of the current
options. First, they will gather
the information needed to make a decision about how to evaluate what is
financially feasible for this congregation.
Secondly, Shultz and Torgerson are going to reexamine approaches and
options which had been set aside earlier in the process and consider if they
show any promise or suggest yet to be defined approaches that might move us
ahead.
