NOVEMBER 2000

MASTER PLANNING PROCESS UPDATE:

The planning process is progressing well.  The two Master Planning Workshops were well attended and elicited energetic participation in the dialogue.

The next step is for the architectural team to evaluate what they have heard and begin to develop designs that address our needs and aspirations.

Beginning Nov 1st there will be biweekly meetings with the architects and the building committee. Some time in December there will be preliminary feedback and further consultation with the congregation.  This will be followed in late December or early January with a full report and presentation.

We are off to a good start. Thanks for your support and participation.  We anticipate an exciting and challenging proposal.

REMEMBER OUR HOME-BOUND CHURCH FRIENDS:

Irene Cockerill now lives at Bethany Care II in Room 309. Originally she lived by Mapleton where she and her husband farmed. They were members of the Mapleton Presbyterian Church. When she moved to the West Fargo high rise she enjoyed walking to our church. Her birthday is July 29.

Ida Keebler now lives in Bethany Tours II. When her husband and she moved to West Fargo, Pastor Jacobs stopped by to greet them and welcome them to the community. They enjoyed his visit so much they joined our church. She was a deacon and helped make the decorations that go on the church’s Christmas tree each year. She misses all her friends at the church and would love to have you stop by Bethany and visit. Her birthday is December 13.

Esther Nitschke celebrated her birthday on October 15, plus moved to a new place to live. She and Matt now live at 1100 Sheyenne Rd, Unit L. She grew up at Ashby, ND and remembers doing motion worship in her home Baptist Church years ago. Her mom died when she was only 9 years old. Her husband, Matt is a decorated World War II vet. They moved to West Fargo the day the 1957 tornado struck Fargo!! She would love to hear from everyone.

YOUTH GROUP NEWS:

Thank you to everyone who helped with the activities on October 29th including youth and adults who helped with the service, fellowship hour, and the Haunted Farm.  We had 20 people from our church that went to the Haunted Farm with the Moorhead First Presbyterian Church Youth Group.

The youth group will begin selling calendars this month.  The money goes to service projects and youth events.  Calendars will sell for $6 apiece; each month of the calendar has a scripture passage and a large glossy picture.  Stop by the office or ask your favorite youth group member about purchasing a calendar or two.  They make GREAT Christmas gifts!

Youth group will meet at its regular times this month 4-6pm Junior High and 7-9pm Senior High except the Sunday after Thanksgiving.  Jessica will be out of town and unable to facilitate youth group on that day.

I hope everyone has a wonderful November!  God bless.---Jessica

THANK YOU:
